36 Week Update

We are less than a month away, people… 28 more days to be exact. I am just so excited and ready for her to get here. I guess I just need to sit back, relax, and play the waiting game. Have I mentioned before that I have no patience? If not, consider this your warning. I am going to be one antsy pregnant lady for the next couple of weeks.
Over Labor Day weekend my OB had her baby!!! How exciting for her and her family!!! {Although, I am beginning to get very jealous of anyone who has had their baby, or will be having their baby before me. Don’t ask me why because I couldn’t even begin to tell you. I might just be losing my mind (this is my best guess).} So, my appointment on Wednesday was with Dr. Laibly instead of Dr. Bahn-Palma. Ben and I really, really liked him. I think from here on out we will be trying to get our weekly appointments with him. During my appointment I actually had a question! Go me! I was wondering how far past my due date they would let me go. He basically said we will let you go a week over, but if that happens expect a lot of appointments to check of baby to make sure everything is still okay. They want Little Lady to come as naturally as possible. I am a fan of that answer, but I hope that it doesn’t come to that and she comes on time, a little early or a day or two late.
We also had our final appointment in Green Bay today!!! I am so excited that I don’t have to go back to that hospital (unless I am at my parent’s house and I go into labor). Our appointment today was a growth scan to measure all of her cute little bones. Our last scan (2 weeks ago) her femurs were measuring 2 weeks behind all of her other measurements. So, to be safe we went in today to measure all of her bones. Some are still measuring on the small side but Dr. Hayes said that there are no signs of bowing or any other types of dysplasia; she is just going to be a shorty! That comes as no shock to us; although I was hoping she would get a little bit of height from Ben… guess not. She is healthy and right on track and that is all we can ask for!
There has been a lot of man-nesting going on at my house the past few days. Our pack-n-play and swing were delivered this week and it has been Ben’s mission to build it all. I tried to help, but my skills were clearly inferior so I just let him do it. I think it is safe to say that we have the necessities for when she arrives. We are just waiting on her.
I was looking at my calendar today and I noticed how close my original due date is. It upsets me a little bit. It makes me sad that if my body was normal I could be holding my little girl in less than a week, but it’s not so I will have to wait.
Oh, oh, oh I almost forgot. Little Lady is dropping!!! Everyone at work on Tuesday mentioned to me that I am carrying lower than I was on Friday. When I got home I looked in the mirror and low and behold I have dropped, I’m pretty sure she will go down a little bit more but that was a pretty exciting moment. I am also pretty sure that I have been having some real contractions the past few days. All of the Braxton Hicks contractions I was having weren’t really painful, I could feel the tightening of my uterus and a minute or so later it would relax. They were pretty irregular as well and I can usually ignore them. I still get BH contractions but now I have been experiencing the tightening uterus with period like cramps (but worse). They are still irregular but it is hard to ignore them. I meant to ask the doctor yesterday, but pregnancy brain has gotten the best of me, again. I can always ask next week at my appointment, or if I get worried enough I can call the nurses line.
I am hoping to get the nursery done within the next week, and finish the burp cloths I started. When will nesting hit me????

How far along? 36 Weeks or 252 days
Total weight gain/loss: +36
How big is baby: Baby is measuring in at 17.2-18.7 inches long. That’s about the size of a Honeydew. Weighing in at 4.2 to 5.8 pounds. She should be gaining .5lbs a week. She is weighing in at 5 lbs. 11oz.
Maternity clothes? It’s all that fits me. There are a few pre-pregnancy t-shirts I can wear because they are longer but they are still super tight everywhere.
Sleep: I can never seem to get comfortable… Either I am too hot or too cold, or I wake up to her kicking me or a random contraction.
Best moment this week: We got to see the Little Lady again today. She has chunked up quite a bit… wow.
**Movement: ** Movement is back where it should be. I think she just tired herself out and was just resting last week because this week she has been crazy.
**Food cravings: **Ice Cream Sandwiches and Popsicles = Best Diet Ever
Gender: Little Lady
Belly Button in or out? Amazingly I still have an innie, a very very shallow innie.
**Symptoms: **I am down right tired, that could be the anemia or just 3rd trimester fun.
Breathing has become a bit easier since she has dropped a bit.
I find it quite difficult to get a decent amount of sleep.
My feet are in a constant state of being swollen (nothing to worry about I had the doctors check).
Sitting in one position for an extended period of time is pretty rough on my hips.
I get super super warm at night… normal?
Signs of Labor: The usual Braxton hicks are there with some real contractions mixed in.
I have also been having some nausea.
What I miss: I miss the old Krista. This pregnant Krista doesn’t know if she is coming or going, and she is kind of a bitch right now.
What I am looking forward to: I am ready to meet this Little Lady and figure out her name…
Milestones: She is getting closer and closer to being able to breathe on her own.
Her skin is getting smooth and soft and her gums are rigid.
Her liver and kidneys are in working order.
Her Circulation and immune systems are basically good to go, too.
