24 Weeks

(Please excuse my pissed off look. It’s my new thing. At least my hair looks nice eh?)
Hello 6 months. It’s nice to meet you. Please be kind to me and my body.
I just hit me today that if I am 6 months today and I’m due in october I have approximately 4 months left. So are women pregnant for 10 months instead of the commonly thought 9? Maybe they don’t count the first month because you don’t know about it? Oh well.
WARNING: there may or may not be a few rants in this blog. Don’t read them If you don’t want to. I do this blog so I have a record of this pregnancy and all of the crazy things that are happening to me and thoughts that occur to me.
This past Tuesday (the 10th) was Ben’s 27th Birthday. We went out to dinner at Ala Roma in Fond du Lac, and Oh.My.God. their food is amaze-balls. You get so much and it isn’t expensive at all. If you are looking for good italian food and are near Fond du Lac, be sure to check them out. You wont be disappointed. After dinner we went and saw the movie Neighbors. It was hilarious. Zefron and Seth Rogan were great. There were also cameos of The Lonely Island, and the boys from Workaholics. Classic. If you are looking for a laugh check it out. Now the question on all of your minds is what did I get him for his birthday. Well, remember last week when I blogged about getting a PS4. Well that is his birthday/fathers day/anniversary present.
(He’s so excited. Can’t you see!?)
**RANT 1
***While Ben and I were out to dinner at Ala Roma for his birthday I made the trek to the bathroom. While on my way to the bathroom almost everyone in the restaurant (that is what it felt like) stopped what they were doing, looked at my belly, looked at my face, then looked at my ring finger (only to find that I wasn’t wearing a ring. [It didn’t fit that day]) and I just felt the judgement. Yes, I understand that I look like I could be 19, but COME ON. Don’t you people have better things to do than judge a pregnant woman who’s emotions are bouncing off of the fricken wall? I guess not. And most of the people staring were parents, and women who I would guess are moms. I imagine they have been pregnant (seeing as how they have 4 children, ages ranging from 6ish-17ish) they could have had days where their rings didn’t fit. *
This wasn’t the first time this has happened either.
A few weeks ago Ben and I were are Menards picking up my supply of sour gummy worms and we walked by this elderly woman who looked at me, looked at Ben, looked at my ring finger (again no ring for the same reason) and just GLARED. What the f** is wrong with people? *
* So because of these two incidents I have resorted to this. I am now wearing a ring that fits my finger when I go out into public when my wedding bands don’t fit. The next person that I feel looks at me in a judge-y way I will slap.*
Nothing else really exciting happened this week. On Monday our house we live in had a showing so Ruby and I took a nice long and slow mile walk. A walk that usually only takes 20 minutes took us about 45 minutes. We had to take is slow so we didn’t walk in on a showing so we stopped and barked at some birds and smelled all of the fire hydrants.
**RANT 2 & 3
**If you are going to ask me how I am feeling (and want an honest answer) I will tell you. I feel HUGE. And before you start to tell me “oh honey just you wait you will only get bigger” understand I am only 4’10” and I UNDERSTAND that I will only get bigger. I also, have never been this big in my life so it is quite a shock to me when I look in the mirror and see this belly of mine just growing and growing on a daily basis.
Also. Stop giving me unsolicited advice. If I want to know something I will ask you. Just because you have kids and “have been through this before… Trust me…” doesn’t mean I want your input. Don’t try to tell me that I NEED to breastfeed and if I get an epidural I am damaging my baby. To be frank it is NONE OF YOUR DAMN business. These are the choices Ben and I are making together. This isn’t your baby. It is mine and Ben’s.
Sorry this entry is full of rants, but I can’t handle peoples stupid anymore.
We went grocery shopping and Ben let me control the cart. We ended up in the snack and candy aisle. hehe oops.
Now that you are all caught up with my life, on to the update.
How far along? 24 Weeks which means I’m 6 months pregnant, and 2 weeks away from the third trimester.
**Total weight gain/loss: ** +18. It hurt to step on the scale at the doctor’s office. I blame all the Vegas buffets.
**How big is baby: **Baby is measuring in at 10.5 – 11.8 inches. That’s about the size of a Cantaloupe. Weighing in at 14 – 20.8 oz.
**Maternity clothes? ** I should be all set now.
**Sleep: **It’s been nice. I’m “enjoying it while I can” because that is what everyone is telling me.
Best moment this week: Celebrating Ben’s birthday.
Movement: My child is a raver. She is constantly moving right now. It’s kind of distracting.
Food cravings: No severe cravings this week. The only thing that I had to have was Ice Cream Sandwiches.
Gender: It’s a girl!!!
Belly Button in or out? In for now. Getting more shallow. creepy
What I miss: Sleeping on my tummy and feeling “normal”!
**What I am looking forward to: **My Birthday on Saturday. We will hopefully be going camping, if not the pressure is on Ben.
Milestones: Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque. She has a new pink glow, that’s to the small capillaries that have recently formed.
